A member-driven program sponsored by JFFS in partnership with city of Irvine, SeniorServ, and Irvine Housing Opportunities.
TrueNeighbors Village is a membership-based program that fosters and supports the concept of neighbor-helping-neighbor so that older members of our community can live healthy, enriched, meaningful lives.
A group of community members decided on the name TrueNeighbors Village out of a hope that we could engender a spirit of mutual support that people most often associate with either the “old country” or an idyllic American past.
After months of meeting with Irvine residents and service providers, we are officially launching the first village “neighborhood” at Woodbridge Manor affordable housing in Irvine on July 1, 2012.
We are now making plans to bring TrueNeighbors Village beyond Woodbridge Manor to the broader Woodbridge neighborhood in Irvine. To serve seniors in this diverse community, we will establish program branches that meet the cultural and linguistic needs of residents.

"For me, a true neighbor is a person who shares good times, good food and good books, and who can be counted on to be there to offer support and encouragement when needed."
