The Lifelines program provides individuals and families, who are in financial distress, with emergency financial assistance and short term case management.
The first step is your call to the Helpline, where you will receive information, referral and consultation.
The JFFS Helpline is open during business hours, Monday - Thursday: 9:00am - 4:30pm, and Fridays 9:00am - 1:00pm. Through the JFFS Helpline, you will be connected to the services and programs that meet your needs.
The JFFS case worker will then help you to deal with your immediate issue, while connecting you to the resources for long term stability. JFFS case workers will help advocate with landlords, banks, schools and employers, connect you to programs that directly provide food, emergency shelter and housing, work with credit issuers and credit rating agencies, and connect you to free or low-cost legal and financial professionals. In some cases, we are able to provide financial assistance for shelter, food, medication or other emergency basic needs.
You can offer a lifeline by volunteering your time or by giving a donation to the Chai Fund. The Chai Fund goes directly towards the emergency needs of people in crisis.
