There are many seniors in Orange County who cannot drive and who need a safe way to get to doctor's appointments, shop for food, run errands, and stay active in the community. Some are very isolated and will be very grateful to you for helping them to connect with family and friends.
One of the toughest parts about getting cancer treatment is actually getting there. Transportation is the number one reason that patients miss or don't schedule needed appointments. With your help, we can make sure that people don't miss their treatments and increase their chances of recovery.
Many of our riders are legally blind or have other disabilities that make it impossible for them to drive. This doesn't stop them from teaching classes, participating in social activities, and helping others to help themselves. Our volunteer drivers love to give this kind of ride because it helps so many people.
Your volunteer commitment is flexible. You can volunteer to drive as little as once or twice a month, or as much as five days a week, depending on your preference.
